Flerken

With all this talk of tentacles, I decided to do a Flerken. For those not familiar with the Marvel movies, a Flerken looks exactly like a cat... until it opens its mouth.



The cat is clip-art, but I did the tentacles myself; Bezier curves with emulated brush dynamics. Quite pleased that I figured out how to change the brush dynamics to do what I wanted.

A superb Flerken! The most important factor in any Flerken art, contrast of fluffy kitty vs that's-not-right tentacles, expertly achieved. I like the tentacles being 'clip-art style', but with the wispy wormy ness just enough off-style that it makes them a bit more off-putting.

I amused myself in Dimension. (Started a few days late, I'm gonna go back and catch up on 1-3.) It's, uh, hard to tell what's going on in the picture at thumbnail size, so if you're curious I recommend embiggening it.
While this wasn't intended as fanart, I'm now realizing it has hardcore Stargate Atlantis vibes.

Work today and forgot my phone charging cable. These were in the hospital grounds. Grass stopped and then there was mushrooms.

Neat! I like the angle and the line of them coming from the top- it's like the mushrooms were gathering for a convention. FUNGI are FUN GUYS.

Bee and Weed Blossom

Started out with ordinary pencil, then ballpoint ink, then colored pencil, then I scanned and filtered it through Photoshop Elements - levels to increase the contrast, and then a filter called colored pencil.

Bee Evolution

I scanned it when it was black & white, then again when it was color, and since I had those two stages, I thought I'd make a little gif. I'm posting it separately, so if it causes problems (or doesn't work at all) I can delete it & still have a contribution for today.

I had a go at using https://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony , that Feng_Shui_House kindly introduced me to yesterday.

It was quite good, I'm only using a standard mouse, and this was my first attempt at something. Not sure what it is. I see a moody face, which is pretty much how I felt when I made it! :D

Don't like the lack of undo button though...

Oh, I see the face! It looks very cool to me.

I only use a regular mouse, too. I'm not sure Harmony would work any different even with better control devices. I tend to screenshot often when doing Harmony in case I wreck it beyond the possible repair of painting over since there is no erase or undo. The very limits help to develop visualization skills, I think.
