I find that image, with the reliance on texture rather than colour, very appealing. I think it looks like a quilt, with patterned fabrics and stitching.
The Color setting on Paint is fabulous, 'cause you can fine-tune colors by hand (three times 240 factorial different shades), but it's very hard-to-impossible to do anything with consistent texture.
So I'm wondering how it would work if I created a textured image in black and white, and copy-pasted it into color, then changed the black pixels into different hues.
This was step one of that experiment.
